Welcome to Pretzel Empire

"Transylvanian Twists in the Sunshine State"

From their distinctive knotted shape to their one-of-a-kind salty, savory taste, there’s nothing quite like the amazing pretzel. Whether hard, soft, dipped in spicy mustard or warm cheese, pretzels may truly be the world’s most perfect snack.

And, they’re also one of the most richly interesting and historic foods around as well.

By the 17th century, the interlocking loops of the pretzel had come to symbolize undying love as well. Pretzel legend has it that in 1614 in Switzerland, royal couples used a pretzel in their wedding ceremonies (similar to how a wishbone might be used today) to seal the bond of matrimony. Some couples even grasped the ends of the pretzel and unraveled it during wedding ceremonies — this custom may have been the origin of the phrase “tying the knot.” In Germany—the country and people most associated with the pretzel throughout history—17th-century children wore pretzel necklaces on New Year’s to symbolize good luck and prosperity for the coming year.

The three holes in the traditional pretzel shape have also taken on religious meaning over the years. These are sometimes seen as being representative of the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

While our roots originate in Romania, we believe that great taste knows no boundary. Share with us the delectable flavors of Romania's gastronomic heritage with our handcrafted pretzels that pays homage to centuries old recipes, a delicious embodiment of Romania's diverse culinary influences with blending flavors from Transylvania to Moldova and beyond.

(In 2015, at the Medieval Festival in Sighișoara, Romania, the largest pretzel in the world was baked, named "Food of the Giants." According to official data, it measured over 65 feet in diameter and had an unfolded surface of 209 linear feet. The chefs claimed that the dough used to prepare it consisted of 220 lbs of flour and over 2 lbs of yeast.)

Upon arriving in Florida, we were mesmerized by the golden beaches and the radiant sunshine. Yet, something was missing—the aroma of freshly baked pretzels. Determined to recreate the magic of our homeland, we decided to introduce our pretzels to the people of Florida.

We started with a food truck. Initially, the Floridians were skeptical. Pretzels were not a common sight in this part of the world. However, our passion and the quality of our baking drew curious crowds.

As the sun set over the horizon, casting hues of orange and purple across the sky, we smile knowing that we've successfully brought a little piece of Romania to the Sunshine State
